Communication
WhatsApp is not a society notice board
Forwarded PDFs and scrolled complaints are not governance. Official society communication needs a board that stays put.

WhatsApp is how neighbours talk. It is a weak system of record. Notices get forwarded twice, bylaws vanish in a 400-member group, and a complaint posted at 11pm is invisible by morning. Admins then hunt through chat to remember what is still open.
Official vs informal
GateFlow does not ask societies to ban neighbour chat. It asks the RWA to stop treating a group thread as the notice board, the complaints register, and the document archive.
- Notices and documents live in the app, not as a PDF in someone’s gallery
- Each complaint is a ticket with live status, visible to the community
- End-to-end encrypted resident chat sits next to that record
- SOS alerts go to security and admin, not “someone in the group”
That split is the official communication use case. Residents still get push notifications. The committee gets a complaints tab instead of a screenshot archaeology project.
If your society’s “process” is a forwarded message, start with FAQ and a walkthrough. GateFlow is newly launched; the product is the board, not a promise of a user count.
